"Is that the coup?" Aaron asked.
"I believe so. They need to take you down."
THE STORY
Aaron is heir to the throne of New America — a fractured nation struggling to rebuild after the 27-Year War.
Haunted by visions of a past he’s never known, he leads a dangerous trek to the Great Ruins to recover the last surviving historical books -- buried along with the fallen Capitol.
They return home triumphant — and walk into an elaborate coup. A council member is murdered. Accusations fly. Loyalties fracture. Aaron learns the truth: they were never meant to survive the journey.
